On3’s Derek Young logged an expert prediction for Clemson to land four-star offensive tackle Reece Wilmes, giving the Tigers some early momentum for one of the top young linemen in the 2028 class.
Wilmes is a 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive tackle out of Lawrence Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas. According to 247Sports, he is rated as an 89 overall prospect and ranked as the No. 28 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 3 player in Kansas. His 247Sports Composite ranking is even stronger, listing him as the No. 256 player nationally, the No. 25 offensive tackle and the No. 3 player in the state.

Wilmes is the brother of Clemson freshman offensive tackle Braden Wilmes, and he has already visited campus four times.
Wilmes also has offers from Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon, Nebraska, Iowa and others, so this is not some quiet recruitment. But with Matt Luke involved and Clemson already getting an expert prediction, the Tigers look like a serious factor early.
