Your Georgetown Hoyas have released details for their 12 nonconference games. Rematches against Maryland (home), Clemson (away), and UNC (home) were expected, but it’s great to see them on the official lineup with official dates (no times yet).
Confirmation of the San Diego Thanksgiving event also helps–the Hoyas will face Texas then UCLA or St. Mary’s, all traditionally highly rated. The Georgetown schedule will officially start on November 2nd.
Not to be too pessimistic, but one can’t help but notice local-ish teams like Loyola, Delaware State, Coppin State (as well as an old Cooley schedule staples in Sacred Heart and Rider) and see the traditional KenPom 300-level scheduling we’ve known. UMass Lowell is a new one, but it feels like the familiar part of the schedule.

The interesting part is that Delaware State (11/10) and Coppin State (11/21) will be at McDonough. Whether the students will reward the schedulers and turn out remains to be seen.
Absent from the schedule are recent Cooley-era foes like UMBC and Wagner; not to mention Notre Dame and Syracuse, which appear to have run their course.
Also, there is still no revival of a fan-favorite inter-conference matchup like the Gavitt Tipoff Games or BIG EAT-Big 12 Challenge, which ended in 2023-24 and 2024-25, respectively.
Scheduling is undoubtedly not an easy task, especially with so much head-coach attention required to manage the portal. If a coach wants to build a tournament-worthy resume, scheduling 6+ 300-ranked teams sends some kind of message about the expectations of your team’s success.

It’s still unclear if the the roster is set. It’s anyone’s guess as to who is on the team, let alone on campus.
The season tips on November 2nd. Television and times are likely to come.
There will likely be some scrimmages in October.
Big East conference play typically starts the week after Saturday, December 12th (UNC at home), but hosting Sacred Heart on December 16th seems to indicate the conference schedule beginning around December 17th.
