How ex-LSU star Aneesah Morrow is faring in second WNBA season

Aneesah Morrow began her second WNBA season strong but an injury to her left leg held her out of multiple games in June. The former LSU women’s basketball star seems to be trending toward a return shortly.

Morrow’s official injury status is listed as day-to-day on ESPN. The Connecticut Sun forward’s first game missed was on June 8 against the New York Liberty. She sat out for two games after that, then returned on June 13, playing in four games before sitting out Friday.

Despite her health status, Morrow remains one of the most productive players for the Sun. She led the team in points and rebounds for a four-game stretch between May and June. She averages 11 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.9 steals per game.

In 2026, Morrow has nine double-doubles. She began the season with four double-doubles in the first five games. The Sun selected Morrow with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft after two seasons under Kim Mulkey at LSU.
