Several aspects of Jaylen Brown’s approach reportedly created frustration within the Celtics organization before he was traded to the 76ers.
According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Brown’s regular Twitch streams became a source of concern for some members of Boston’s front office.
His public comments describing last season as the favorite of his career also reportedly drew criticism, particularly because they were viewed as overshadowing the Celtics’ 2024 championship campaign.
“Brown’s frequent Twitch streams caused some headaches in Boston’s front office and his claim that last season was his favorite – besting, you know, the 2024 run that ended in a championship – didn’t go over well with the fan base.”
Mannix also reported there was internal frustration over Brown’s desire to be viewed on the same level as franchise cornerstone Jayson Tatum.
“Behind the scenes there was plenty of grumbling about Brown’s desire to be viewed as a basketball equal to Jayson Tatum.”
