It’s a 2-game slate Saturday night in the WNBA, highlighted by a pair of Top 5 seeds clashing in Atlanta, as the Dream host the Golden State Valkyries.

On the other end of the spectrum, it’s the expansion Portland Fire trying to finesse their way into the playoff mix, as they visit the struggling Seattle Storm.

And that leaves me a lot to consider as I parse through the matchups and share my top WNBA player props to target.

Check out my free WNBA picks below for Saturday, July 4.

Rhyne Howard UNDER 2.5 3-point makes vs Valkyries (+100)

No one takes more threes per game in the WNBA, and only one person averages more makes per game than the Atlanta Dream’s Rhyne Howard.

But it’s a feast-or-famine proposition when tracking Howard’s progress. In her last 11 games, Howard has hit at least four triples seven times, but the other four games? One or less.

It’s likely no surprise that two of those duds were against the Golden State Valkyries, the NBA’s top-ranked defense.

Her 3-point percentage against the Valkyries is 15.4% (2-for-13) this year, and we’re headed in that direction again Saturday.

Gabby Williams OVER 15.5 points vs Dream (-112)

Gabby Williams is enjoying her best season as a pro in her first year with the Valkyries, averaging 15.8 points and hitting the 3-ball at a 35.2% clip, both career highs.

After nine straight double-digit scoring efforts, she was held to just seven points in a win over New York last time out.

Atlanta has been a good bounce-back performance for Williams, who has topped her 15.5-point line in both games against the Dream this season and is shooting 51.9% from the field in those contests.

The Dream might be fourth in scoring D, but they are dead last in 3-point shooting defense (37.2%) and second-last from the field (47.4%). Expect Williams to make light work of this total.

Carla Leite Over 6.5 assists vs Storm (+120)

We’ll wrap with Portland Fire go-to guard Carla Leite, who leads the team in both scoring and assists. Her 5.7 dimes per game ranks inside the WNBA Top 10, and the target of my bet for Saturday.

She’s coming off a 9-dime effort against Washington, and she’s dished out at least seven assists in four of her last seven outings.

That’s notable because one of those games was against these same Seattle Storm on June 17, where Leite finished with 10 assists – her second-highest output of the season.

I like Leite to pick apart a suspect Seattle defense.
