Indiana Fever star guard Sophie Cunningham went on James Corden’s Fox Sports World Cup talk show to break down her now-legendary pointing moment.
It was the point that launched a thousand memes, as Cunningham pointing at Phoenix Mercury star forward DeWanna Bonner during a tiff turned into the most recognizable image of the 2026 WNBA season.

Describing the point to Corden and his panel of guests, she said it was born of being “a little sassy sometimes” and mastering how to “getting in people’s heads.” She called a “game within the game” strategy.
One panelists even suggested the Cunningham pointing moment becoming the new WNBA logo.
While the W logo probably won’t change anytime soon, the pointing meme will undoubtedly endure.
