NEW COMMIT: Freestyle Henry Anstine, who originally committed to the University of Minnesota, has flipped his commitment and will attend the University of Michigan in Fall 2027. Anstine hails from Chester Springs, Pa.

He will join Brody Reber in Ann Arbor as a member of the Wolverines’ Class of 2031.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“After careful consideration, I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic careers at the University of Michigan. I would like to thank the Michigan coaches for this amazing opportunity, my family, and all my coaches and teammates who supported me over the years. Go Blue!”

Anstine, who trains year-round with Suburban Seahawks Club, placed fourth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 free at the NCSA Spring Championships this past March. He earned six best times at the NCAP Katie Ledecky Invitational in December where he secured silver in the 100 free and bronze in the 50 free and 200 free.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.57
  • 100 free – 44.06
  • 200 free – 1:36.24
  • 500 free – 4:30.26

A rising senior at Malvern Prep School, Anstine won the 100 free and 200 free at the 2026 Eastern Interscholastic League Championships; he took fourth and eighth, respectively, in those events at that meet in 2025. He also swept the 100 free and 200 free at the 2026 National Catholic High School Championships; he placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in those events as a sophomore in 2025.

Michigan finished second at the 2026 Big Ten Championships and eighth at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
