INDIANAPOLIS — Purdue men’s basketball will again play in the Indy Classic, which it initiated for the 2022-23 season.
The Boilermakers will face Colorado at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Dec. 19, the program announced, to complete their nonconference schedule. This is a break from playing an SEC team after Purdue played Texas A&M (2024) and Auburn (2025) the last two seasons.

The Buffaloes are led by longtime coach Tad Boyle, who has six NCAA tournament appearances and five NIT bids in 16 seasons. His 320 wins average out to 20 per year after a 17-16 finish last season. It gives Purdue another notch in its nonconference schedule with eight games against teams that finished top 100 in the final NET rankings.
It also will be a special game for the Jacobsen family. Purdue’s 7-foot-2 center Daniel Jacobsen will get to oppose his 6-11 brother Eric, who will be a freshman for CU.
Time and TV information is to be announced. Butler will play Georgia Tech in the other game of the Indy Classic.
The nonconference schedule also included an SEC program with Tennessee’s visit to Mackey Arena on Dec. 12. Other known power conference or nationally relevant opponents include Gonzaga in Las Vegas on Nov. 2 and the return visit of a home-and-home with Iowa State.
