After a quiet start to NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nate Ament finished on a positive note by scoring in double figures in each of his final two appearances for the Milwaukee Bucks.
According to The Athletic, the first-roun pick is viewed as more of a long-term developmental prospect than fellow rookie Brayden Burries, which matched expectations heading into the 2026 NBA Draft.
Even so, Ament is embracing the opportunity to grow within the Bucks organization and understands the expectations that come with being one of the franchise’s promising young players.
“I mean, it’s great, honestly. That’s what every kid dreams of,” Ament told The Athletic.
“But also at the same time, with great honor comes great responsibility. If I am one of the faces of Milwaukee, then I’ve got a lot of responsibility.”
The former Tennessee forward said he hopes to leave a lasting impact on both the team and the city, pointing to Giannis Antetokounmpo as the standard he wants to follow.
“What Giannis did for the city – the community, the organization, bringing the championship to them – I want it to be that same type of thing.
“So, I’m gonna work super hard to build Milwaukee up, the organization and the community, and I’m going to work my butt off to try to bring as many championships as we can.”
