Last week, we learned that a trio of UConn women’s basketball alums will take part in the WNBA All-Star Game on July 25 in Chicago.
Breanna Stewart, Paige Bueckers and Gabby Williams will all play on “Team Coop,” and they’ll have additional UConn-related company in the Windy City.

It was announced on Tuesday that Huskies’ alum Azzi Fudd will participate in the three-point contest, scheduled for Friday night. Fudd is the only rookie who will participate.
Here’s more on what you need to know about the former Huskies star.
A five-year standout for the Huskies, Fudd played in 115 career games, starting 98 of them. She missed nearly all of her junior season with injury, but came back to huge success in her redshirt junior and senior years. As a redshirt junior, she led the Big East in three-point shooting percentage (43.6) while scoring 13.6 ppg and helping the Huskies win the national championship.

This past season, with Paige Bueckers having graduated, she led the Big East in three-point shooting again (44.7 percent) while elevating her game to 17.3 ppg. She led the Huskies to an undefeated regular season and a trip to the Final Four, where they were upended by South Carolina. Fudd was a first-team All-American. She was also a two-time All-Big East selection during her time in Storrs.
Fudd was the seventh No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft out of UConn, joining Sue Bird (2002), Diana Taurasi (2004), Tina Charles (2010), Maya Moore (2011), Breanna Stewart (2016) and Bueckers (2025). Like Bueckers, she was selected by the Dallas Wings.
Through 25 games thus far, Fudd is averaging 13.3 points per game and 1.9 assists. She has started 19 games for the Wings and is averaging 31.6 minutes per night. She is shooting 45.9 percent from the floor and 38.8 percent from three-point range, making two a game.

She is also pulling down nearly two rebounds a game. The Wings are 17-9 and in fourth place in the Western Conference.
The UConn football team will meet the media for the first time on Thursday as part of the school-sanctioned Media Day.
It will be the first Media Day for new head coach Jason Candle, who took over from Jim Mora, who went to Colorado State.
