The University of Akron men’s basketball team received a commitment from Trevick Bertke, he announced Monday, July 20, on social media.
A 6-foot-8 wing, Bertke will soon be a senior at Lima Shawnee High School.

As a high school junior last season, Bertke earned third-team All-Ohio recognition in Division III. He averaged 18.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 steals and 2.4 blocked shots in 2025-26.

Akron basketball: Ex-Zips guard Nate Johnson signs with Oklahoma City Thunder
Bertke was named the co-Western Buckeye League Player of the Year, sharing the award with his older brother, Beckett Bertke.
A first-team All-Ohio pick last season, Beckett Bertke graduated from Shawnee and is set to continue his basketball career at the University of Findlay.
