The Florida State Seminoles fielded a highly productive offense last season, ranked No. 9 in total offense and No. 13 in rushing. The Seminoles also operated behind an offensive line that averaged 322 pounds per man.
Inexplicably, that productivity did not translate to wins on the field as the Seminoles limped to a 5-7 finish. However the Seminoles are starting fresh this season after losing all five starters from last year’s unit.

FSU head coach Mike Norvell added talented transfers to rebuild his offensive line with road graders. This year’s unit has a combined 107 starts, and these projected starters come from one power four school, group of six teams, and an FCS powerhouse.
With a new group, the “Great Wall of Humanity” is back upfront at Florida State.
C Bradyn Welch-Joiner
At 6-2, 327, Welch-Joiner made 12 starts at Purdue in 2025. He made five starts with Auburn in 2024 and earned SEC All-Freshman honors. Welch-Joiner was rated as the No. 1 center in the State of Alabama as a high school star in Auburn, Alabama.

RG Nate Pabst
A transfer from Bowling Green, Pabst started 38 games and served as team captain. After allowing just one sack all season, the 6-foot-7, 315-pound Pabst earned second-team All-MAC honors.
LG Andre Otto
At 6-foot-5, 318 pounds, Otto will play the 2026 college football season with his college diploma already in hand. After mainly serving on special teams, Otto moves up front to protect the offense.
RT Chimdia Nwaiwu
At FCS power Stephen F. Austin, Nwaiwu was the highest-graded offensive lineman in the Southland Conference. In 13 starts, he earned an 82.5 grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF). The 6-foot-5, 307-pound Nwaiwu earned first-team All-Southland Conference accolades.

A mountain of a man at 6-foot-8, 346 pounds, Chaplin started 37 games over three seasons at Virginia Tech. Five times last season, Chaplin graded out at 90 or higher, including 97 against Missouri.
Both Pabst and Chaplin are potential NFL prospects, according to college football analyst Phil Steele.
This offensive line unit is as important as any position group on the Seminoles team this season. Pass protection for a quarterback with a history of ball security issues. Run blocking for a trio of talented running backs.
Can they limit the sacks and tackles for loss? The Seminoles allowed 23 sacks and 59 tackles for loss season ago, both ranked in the top ten nationally last season.

These big guys will be tested early by both SMU at home and Alabama on the road in Tuscaloosa in the month of September. If they can keep quarterback Ashton Daniels upright in both of those games, and somehow steal a win, talk about a tone-setting victory for the 2026 season.
