Darren Elkins is giving UFC appearance No. 31 a go.
The lineup for UFC Fight Night 284 was officially announced by the promotion Thursday, with Elkins (29-12 MMA, 19-11 UFC) among the new bout additions. The event takes place Aug. 8 at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Elkins, 42, will battle rising Cuban up-and-comer Yadier del Valle (10-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) in a three-round featherweight bout. He has not competed since an April 2025 knockout loss to Julian Erosa. Despite his longevity and seasoned status, Elkins had won back-to-back fights prior to the loss. Elkins made his UFC debut in March 2010, making him one of the longest-tenured fighters on the roster.
Del Valle, 29, looks to bounce back from the first loss of his professional career. After he started his promotional tenure with back-to-back first-round submission wins over Connor Matthews and Isaac Dulgarian, del Valle lost a unanimous decision to Jordan Leavitt in February.
