The WNBA All-Star Weekend is here as the best players in the league congregate in Chicago, Illinois, to show off their skills. Before the game itself takes place, select players will participate in the 3-point contest and the shooting stars on Friday night.

Since 2017, only four players have won the 3-Point Contest, with Allie Quigley winning the event four times. Sabrina Ionescu won her second contest in three years last season. Instead of the Skills Challenge, though, the WNBA is going with a Shooting Stars event featuring four former legends and four high school stars.

This year there will be a lot of new faces front and center for the WNBA All-Star weekend. Here’s a look at who will be taking centre stage in Chicago this weekend.

2026 WNBA 3-Point Contest participants

Six players will participate in this year’s 3-Point Contest, including No. 1 overall pick Azzi Fudd. The former UConn star is shooting 38.8 percent from deep on the season and will be busy experiencing her first All-Star Weekend.

The two best players in the field are Marina Mabrey and Rhyne Howard, as the guards are currently first and second in 3-pointers made per game this year. Mabrey’s 3.3 3-pointers per game leads the league, with Howard’s 3.2 3-pointers per game sitting at second, and no other player in the WNBA has more than 2.7.

Carleton, Salaun and Hiedeman are strong 3-point shooters who round out the field, as each of the three is in the top 10 in 3-pointers made per game.

2026 WNBA Shooting Stars participants

This year, the WNBA is replacing a skills challenge with a Shooting Stars challenge, bringing together former legends with current players from the same franchise. The Minnesota Lynx, Seattle Storm, Washington Mystics and Dallas Wings will all be represented in the event.

Minnesota is bringing back Rebekkah Brunson to pair with Courtney Williams, wile Seattle will have Lauren Jackson back alongside Flau’jae Johnson. For Washington, Elena Delle Donne will join Shakira Austin, and the Dallas Wings will have Jessica Shepard alongside Detroit Shock legend Deanna “Tweety” Nolan.

Additionally, each team will be assigned a third player on their team, as four high school players from Nike EYBL will also participate. According to the WNBA website, those four players are :

WNBA All-Star schedule 2026

The WNBA All-Star break will take place from July 23-27, with events taking place on July 24 and 25 live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The first night will feature the 3-Point Contest and Shooting Stars, while the second night will be the All-Star Game.
