Caitlin Clark earned bragging rights over Indiana Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell during the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game, and she made sure Mitchell heard about it afterward.

Clark and Team Spoon defeated Mitchell and Team Coop, 129-122, on Saturday night at the United Center in Chicago. When the Fever celebrated the victory on social media, Clark jumped into the comments with a playful one-word message for Mitchell.
“Sorry,” Clark wrote while tagging her Indiana teammate.
The apology was clearly a joke. Clark and Mitchell spent much of the All-Star Game laughing, competing and enjoying the rare opportunity to face each other instead of sharing the Fever backcourt. However, Mitchell had little reason to apologize for her own performance.

Mitchell led all players with 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting. She also contributed five steals, four rebounds and two assists for Team Coop. The Fever guard scored 12 points during the fourth quarter as her team attempted to erase a double-digit deficit. Had Team Coop completed the comeback, Mitchell would have had a compelling case to win All-Star Game MVP.
That honor instead went to New York Liberty star Jonquel Jones, who powered Team Spoon with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Clark also delivered an impressive performance in the victory. She finished with 17 points, five assists, four rebounds and one steal while connecting on five 3-pointers.

The Fever star made three of those shots from beyond the arc during the opening quarter, quickly establishing herself as one of Team Spoon’s primary scoring threats.

Clark and Mitchell appeared to enjoy every moment of their temporary rivalry. When Clark connected on a 3-pointer with Mitchell defending her, the two guards exchanged smiles before Clark jokingly pushed her Fever teammate. Indiana later shared a video of the interaction on social media.
Clark’s “Sorry” comment continued the fun after Team Spoon secured the victory.

Fans quickly responded to the playful message, with several noting Clark’s reputation for trolling her teammates. Others came to Mitchell’s defense by pointing out that she finished as the leading scorer despite playing for the losing team.
The lighthearted exchange offered another glimpse at the relationship between two players who have become central to Indiana’s success. Clark’s shooting and playmaking have made her one of the WNBA’s biggest stars, while Mitchell remains one of the league’s most dangerous and consistent scorers.
They will now return to the same side as the Fever prepare for the second half of the season. Mitchell may have won the individual scoring battle Saturday night, but Clark left Chicago with the victory and the final word.
