The 27-year-old suffered the injury early in Monday night’s game against the Brewers. Schmitt led off the bottom second inning with a fly ball single to right field. He rounded first base in an attempt to stride for second, but hit the brakes and turned around as the Brewers put the ball back infield. When Schmitt slowed down to reverse back to first base, he seemingly tweaked his knee as he hobbled to the bag.
