Last year’s Arizona State basketball starting point guard Moe Odum was declared eligible for another season of NCAA basketball, but is entering the transfer portal, according to On3.
He was declared eligible due to the U.S. District Court of Colorado’s Judge Charlotte Sweeney granting a class-wide preliminary injunction that forces the NCAA to afford another year of eligibility to high school athletes who entered collegiate competition during the 2022-23 school year and finished up their eligibility in the 2025-26 competition year. Instead of coming back to Tempe, where he spent one season, he will be on the move again.

Odum transferred to ASU from Pepperdine, where he also transferred to from Pacific. He played two seasons at Pacific and one at Pepperdine. Odum has been a starter for all three schools.
He will likely be highly sought after in the portal, as his first taste of Power 4 basketball featured the best season of his collegiate career last season. He averaged career highs in points per game (16.4) and steals per game (1.4). That points per game number and his 37.7% 3-point percentage led the Sun Devils, and he tied for the team lead in steals per game and free throw percentage (82.9%).
Odum would now get a fifth year with 131 college basketball games under his belt already (114 starts). A career 41.6% shooter with a 35% career 3-point stroke, he was already a four-star transfer portal prospect last offseason when ASU acquired him.
The Sun Devils rank just 65th in the nation for overall recruiting ranking (high school recruits plus transfers) in new head coach Randy Bennett’s first offseason with the program. Incoming guards are key, including four-star freshman combo guard JRob Croy and four-star Portland transfer point guard Joel Foxwell.
