The upcoming Noche UFC card on Sept. 12 from inside Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, finally has a main event showdown as featherweight contenders Jean Silva and Yair Rodriguez will battle it out atop the Paramount+ card.
This is according to a recent report by ESPN Brasil. See below:
Silva, 29, is coming off a decision win over Arnold Allen back in January at UFC 324. That performance landed “Lord” back in the UFC’s featherweight win column after getting knocked out by Diego Lopes his fight before that. Overall, Silva is 6-1 as a member of the UFC stable and easily one of the most exciting contenders on the roster. If he’s able to take care of a main event matchup against “El Pantera” then Silva could land himself on the short list of title contenders heading into 2027.

Rodriguez, 33, is coming off his own decision win after knocking off Bellator MMA legend Patricio Pitbull at UFC 314 all the way back in April 2025. The former interim UFC featherweight champion hasn’t fought since then, but Rodriguez still has enough momentum in the division to headline Noche UFC this September. If he’s able to get past Silva it may not lead to a title rematch with current UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, but Rodriguez would be close.
