Mark Martin Says He Could’ve Been ‘Jeff Gordon’ Of NASCAR

Longtime NASCAR star Mark Martin had a great career, culminating with a Hall of Fame berth.

Martin, now 67, drove the No. 6 Ford for Roush Racing for the majority of his career. He recorded 40 Cup Series victories, 35 of which were achieved with Roush Racing, over 20 years from 1989 to 2009.

The longtime NASCAR Cup Series star stayed loyal throughout his career, though. However, over time, he’s starting to question that. Martin has since admitted that he could’ve been the “Jeff Gordon” of NASCAR.

Gordon is one of the highest-paid drivers of all-time, signing a lifetime deal with Hendrick Motorsports.

“I could’ve possibly been the Jeff Gordon.”
