Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White was named the WNBA’s Coach of the Month for July, and fans are not happy about it.
Things are looking good for the Fever as the WNBA season hurtles towards the playoffs. The team had an 8-2 record in July and they’re catching fire at the right time.

They’ve been in the headlines because of Sophie Cunningham‘s off-court takes, but now it’s the play on the court that’s speaking the loudest. Kelsey Mitchell, Caitlin Clark, and Aliyah Boston are all balling out.
Credit is also owed to head coach Stephanie White, and she has received it in the form of a Coach of the Month award. But WNBA fans don’t seem to agree with that decision.

WNBA fans think Cheryl Reeve of the Minnesota Lynx should have won the award
Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve has been in the headlines due to the debate about trans athletes. Even Stephen A. Smith called her out over her take.

However, she led her team to a league-best 9-2 record. And the Lynx have looked like the best team in the league all season. So it’s not surprising that some fans think White shouldn’t have gotten the award.
One fan replied to the announcement, saying, “Reeve went 9-2 in July, and is currently on a 10 game win streak including beating this woman but okay.” A second one claimed, “The agenda is crazy, man.”
Another added, “Despite her garbage defensive ‘strategy’ and inability to make any second half offensive adjustments.” A fourth fan wrote, “She’s been carried by the players, doesn’t deserve this.”

“Nope. Nope. Nope. She does her best to destroy an All-Star roster,” claimed a fifth fan. “I really thought she was the right coach but she’s not proven anything to me,” wrote another fan.
It seems that White will have to continue winning at an extremely high clip if she really wants to convince a lot of these fans. The Fever and their coach have a big couple of months coming up.
