Serbia has announced its preliminary roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying window, with three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic once again set to lead the national team.
The Denver Nuggets superstar returns after also representing Serbia during July’s qualification games.
Bogdan Bogdanovic will not be available despite earlier hopes that he could rejoin the squad. Serbia will also be without Filip Petrusev and promising young guard Nikola Topic.
Serbia opens the qualification window at home against Iceland on August 28 before traveling to face Italy on August 31.
The preliminary roster also includes Nikola Jovic, Marko Guduric, Nikola Milutinov, Aleksa Avramovic, Dejan Davidovac, Ognjen Dobric, Nemanja Dangubic, Luka Mitrovic, Arijan Lakic and several other domestic and international players as the team looks to strengthen its position in the race for the 2027 FIBA World Cup.
