Season tickets for the 2026-27 UConn women’s basketball seasonhave gone on sale.
On Wednesday, UConn reminded fansthat season tickets are the only way to guarantee a ticket to key games, includingthose against Tennessee and Iowa.

Season ticket packages are sold separately for games atGampel Pavilion on campus and at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford.
The Huskies, who finished last season with a 38-1 record andlost to South Carolina in the semifinals of the Women’s NCAA Tournament inApril, also have four neutral-court games on the schedule.
They are: a rematch with South Carolina at the Mohegan SunArena in Uncasville, Conn. (Nov. 24); Duke at TD Garden in Boston (Nov. 28);Maryland, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. (Dec. 5); and LSU at BridgestoneArena in Nashville (Dec. 20).
Head coach Geno Auriemma is entering the 42ndseason of his legendary career and is the winningest coach in collegebasketball history with a record of 1,288-166 (.866).

The Huskies have made the NCAA Tournament all but four timesin his tenure – his first three seasons and in 2020, when it was canceled dueto the pandemic. Subtracting his 43 wins and 39 losses in those three seasons fromhis career record give Auriemma a winning percentage of .907.
Auriemma’s teams have won 12 national championships.

The visiting UConn women’s soccer team came from a goal downin the 83nd minute to draw even with Stony Brook, and they settled for a 2-2 tiein the season opener for both teams (0-0-1) on Long Island.

The Seawolves took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute whenEmily Lemke scored on a penalty kick.
Just after halftime, the Huskies’ Alayna Taylor right-footedthe ball for a tie in the 48th minute. Anya Montano and Ines Nouraniwere credited with assists.
Emanuelly Ferreira gave Stony Brook back the lead on a goalin the 78th minute, with Nourani following with the shot to tie.Montano and Chloe Shimkin assisted on the play.

Freshman goalkeeper Lily Onorato made her collegiate debutabout an hour’s drive from her hometown of Oyster Bay, N.Y., and posted fivesaves on seven shots.
The Huskies outshot the Seawolves 14-7 in shots on goal.

It was a night of firsts for UConn players. Nourani, a sophomorefrom Quebec, scored her first UConn goal. Massachusetts native Montano, afreshman, recorded her first assists in college, and Shimkin, a junior transferfrom Texas, registered the assist in her UConn debut.
Shimkin is another Long Islander, with her hometown listed asRockville Centre.
The Huskies had 14 shots on goal compared to seven for theSeawolves.
UConn’s next match is set for Aug. 20 in its home opener inStorrs against Rutgers at 7:30 p.m.
