The Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day are taking every step possible to make sure there are no distractions in the week leading up to their Big Ten finale against Michigan. To that end, USA TODAY Sports reports that Ohio State has moved its senior day celebrations from the last game of the season to the first game of the season.
As a result, 23 Buckeyes seniors will be honored at the Horseshoe on Sept. 5 against Ball State. It’s an interesting decision by the coaching staff, but one that should allow the Buckeyes to exclusively lock in against the Wolverines in what is a contest that should have major playoff ramifications.
Coach Day is no stranger to making alterations ahead of the Michigan game, as he called for the team to fly up to Ann Arbor rather than take the nearly 200-mile bus ride north as had become customary. The end may have justified the means, as Ohio State trounced Michigan 27-9 on the road.

We’ll find out in a few months whether this decision will play a small part in giving Ohio State the result they desire against their arch rival.
