A key for the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense to make improvements in the 2026 season will be offensive-line play.

n

The Raiders’ offensive line was simply dreadful last season and it was a big reason why the offense was awful. The team has made additions with hopes of improving the unit.

n

But the responsibility doesn’t just lie on the offensive line and new unit coach Rick Dennison. It’s also on new expected starting quarterback Kirk Cousins. The quarterback, of course, plays a role in avoiding acks.

n

And last season, while with the Atlanta Falcons, Cousins did a good job of avoiding sacks. According to NFL analyst Warren Sharp, Cousins was sacked on 12.7 percent of his quarterback pressures That was the seventh best rate in the NFL. Contrastly, Raiders’ quarterback Geno Smith was sacked on 28.1 percent of his pressures. That was the fourth worst rate of qualified quarterbacks in the NFL.

So, avoiding sacks is a group effort and Cousins has a chance of helping in that cause.
