Nebraska football will host class of 2028 four-star defensive lineman Sam Hirschy this fall. This was reported by Rivals’ Steve Wilfong earlier this week.
Hirschy measures in at six-foot-four, 267 pounds. He reportedly will visit Lincoln when Nebraska plays Indiana. The Indiana game is scheduled for October 10.

He is the 27th overall defensive lineman in the 2028 class, and the fifth overall player in his class from the state of Indiana according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. He has an extensive offer sheet that includes schools such as Indiana, Auburn, Purdue, California, and Illinois. In addition to his Nebraska visits, he also has visits set up for the Hoosiers and Tigers.
Currently, the Huskers have no commitments in the 2028 class. However, they are building a solid list of visits and offers for the next couple of months. The defensive line is a position the program seems to be focusing on; it will be interesting to see how many of these offers lead to commitments.
