Mason Jones vs. MarQuel Mederos UFC Fight Night 285 expert pick, prediction
Filling out the main card for UFC Fight Night 285 is a solid lightweight action fight between MarQuel Mederos and Mason Jones.
Mederos is coming off a contentious draw with Chris Padilla, while Jones is coming off a Fight of the Night war with Axel Sola.
I’ve been a fan of watching Mederos develop, but I suspect he’s in for an even tougher stylistic version of what he came up against in his last fight. Not only does Jones bring legit experience and accolades to the table, but the Welshman is one of the most relentless pressure fighters in the organization.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Mederos can deal real damage to Jones early, but if he can’t manage to stop him, then I see the American steadily surrendering the steering wheel due to the oncoming pace, striking volume and takedowns.
Round two feels like a hot round for both fighters, but the official pick is for Jones to win a competitive but clear decision on the scorecards.
