Courtney Williams suffered a foot injury during the Lynx’s win against the Washington Mystics last Friday, and she will miss her first game of the season. The injury occurred with less than a minute to go in Friday’s game, and her status moving forward certainly gives Lynx fans some pause for concern with only six game remaining on the regular season schedule before the postseason.

Williams had appeared in all 38 games to this point, at a little over 30 minutes per game. She was averaging 14.4 points, the third-highest mark of her career, to go along with 5.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals alongside splits of 45.4 percent shooting from the field, 36.1 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 82 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

This is Williams’ third year with the Lynx after signing as a free agent on a two-year contract ahead of the 2024 season. This past offseason, she re-signed on a two-year max contract.
