Ten days after he was shot at a concert in Mississippi, Ahmad Hardy gave Missouri fans and those interested in his well-being a reassuring update.
In a video posted by the official Missouri football account on social media, the Tigers’ star running back thanked fans for their support while noting he’s back in Columbia, Missouri and beginning his recovery process.

“I’m starting the road to my rehab,” Hardy said. “I want to thank everybody for all the support and all your prayers. Thank (you) everybody for everything. I’m back on the road to success.”

Hardy, an Oma, Mississippi native, was shot in his upper leg in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 10 and underwent surgery that same day.
According to a report from the Kansas City Star, Hardy was believed to be a passenger in a vehicle leaving the concert when gunfire started. An official from the Laurel Police Department told the Star that Hardy is not believed to have been a part of the events that preceded the shooting and was an “innocent bystander.”

Hardy was released from the hospital on Tuesday, May 12.
After transferring over from Louisiana-Monroe the previous offseason, Hardy was one of the most productive offensive players in college football last season, rushing for 1,649 yards, which ranked him second among all FBS players, and 16 touchdowns while averaging 6.4 yards per carry.
The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Hardy is widely projected as one of the top running backs available for the 2027 NFL Draft.
