The USA Swimming 2026 TYR Pro Swim Series stop in Sacramento kicked off on Wednesday, May 20.
A plethora of Olympians both foreign and domestic are on the slate for what looks to be a fast meet, hosted by DART Swimming.
The Day 1 events are the 200 IM, 50 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 200 free.
Here is a look at what happened on Day 1:
Pro Swim Series: Women’s 200 IM
Swim Atlanta’s Katie Cristopherson took the top seed in the 200 IM, getting to the wall in 2:15.04.
Cal’s Alexa McDevitt was the second seed in 2:15.15, while Olympian Torri Huske cruised to the third seed in 2:15.67. Her seed time of 2:09.43 still makes her the favorite for the finals.

Pro Swim Series: Men’s 200 IM
Canada’s Finlay Knox raced to the top seed in the men’s 200 IM, reaching the wall in 2:02.35, a half second ahead of the field.
Sun Devil Swimming’s Grant House took the second spot in 2:02.97, while Grant Sanders was third in 2:03.11 and NC State’s Daniel Diehl took the fourth seed in 2:03.23. He scratched the finals in favor of the 200 free.

Pro Swim Series: Men’s 100 Backstroke
Alabama’s Tommy Hagar took the top seed in the 100 backstroke, getting to the wall in 55.08.
NC State’s Daniel Diehl, who also made the finals in the 200 IM earlier, took the second spot in 55.36. His teammate Gavin Keogh took the third spot in 55.63.
Olympic champion Ryan Murphy made his first 100 backstroke race in his first big race since the 2024 Paris Olympics and took the fourth seed in 55.65.

Pro Swim Series: Women’s 200 Free
The women’s 200 free is loaded with Olympic medalists and had three sub-2 minute swims to lead the prelims.
Eastern Express’ Kennedi Dobson took the top seed in 1:58.92, followed by City of Lafayette’s Marie Landreneau (1:59.53) and Long Island’s Chloe Stepanek (1:59.86).
Canadian Olympian and NCAA champion Taylor Ruck took the fourth seed in 2:01.06, while Sandpipers’ Bella Sims was just behind Ruck at 1:02.35.
Torri Huske is looming as well with the seventh seed in 2:02.26 after also doing the 200 IM.
