A stout frontcourt is an important characteristic of modern Arizona basketball, and that will remain the case going into the 2026-27 season. Nebraska transfer Ugnius Jarusevicius is signing with the Wildcats, according to reporters Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer. The 6-foot-11 forward will join the 7-foot-2 Motiejus Krivas in providing incredible size for head coach Tommy Lloyd.

A Jaden Bradley and Brayden Burries-led backcourt played a massive role in Arizona’s first Final Four appearance in 25 years, but Koa Peat and Krivas were also crucial components of the squad. The 2026 Big 12 champions will not be able to make a second straight deep run in the NCAA Tournament without sufficient rebounding and a solid low-post attack. Jarusevicius aims to bring those attributes to Tucson.
He was denied the chance to do so in Lincoln. The Lithuanian big man suffered a back injury and played in just one game for Nebraska before being ruled out for the remainder of the season in February. Jarusevicius was forced to watch from the sidelines as the Cornhuskers enjoyed a landmark campaign. He is hoping to capture his own dose of March bliss with the perennially relevant Wildcats.
Before transferring to Nebraska, Jarusevicius shined at Central Michigan. He earned an All-Mac First-Team selection after averaging 16.2 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting 53.7 percent from the field during the 2024-25 campaign. Having also played for Cal State Bakersfield, the redshirt senior is motivated to finish his college career at The Big Dance.
Arizona basketball will give Ugnius Jarusevicius the opportunity to conclude this chapter of his life on a prosperous note.
