Arizona Guard Brayden Burries Shows Support for Koa Peat’s NBA Draft Decision

Brayden Burries and the Arizona Wildcats had a disappointing end to the 2025-26 college basketball season. After entering the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed, they advanced all the way to the Final Four. However, their run at a national championship ended there, losing to the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines 91-73.

It was still a successful freshman season for Burries. He came in with high expectations as a five-star recruit according to Rivals Industry Rankings. The guard appeared in 39 games, averaging 16.1 points (led the team), 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Despite not yet officially declaring, he is expected to be a top prospect in the 2026 NBA Draft.

However, he isn’t the only Wildcat who has been facing the same decision. Koa Peat, a 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward out of Chandler, Arizona, also impressed as a true freshman. He’d committed to Arizona over the Texas Longhorns, Houston Cougars and North Carolina Tar Heels.

His impact was tremendous, appearing in 36 games while averaging 14.1 points (second on the team), 5.6 rebounds (third on the team) and 2.6 assists (second on the team). He also shot 52.8% from the field and 35% from beyond the three-point line.

However, his time with the Wildcats is coming to an end. On Friday, Peat took to Instagram to announce he is officially declaring for the NBA Draft, with a post captioned “Dream Chasing 💯.”

Burries quickly showed his support for Peat by liking the post and commenting, “Be great Big Bro 🥹😍.”
