Wilson Central is in search of a new football coach with the 2026 TSSAA season just three months away. Ben Kuhn announced his resignation in a Facebook post on May 22 after three seasons leading the Wildcats.

“This morning I resigned my position as head coach at Wilson Central,” Kuhn wrote in the post. “WC has been so good to me and my family and we will miss the players, school, administration, teachers and assistant coaches there. To all my current and past players, thank you for your hard work an dedication to the program. I truly enjoyed being your head coach and will miss you all.”

Kuhn was initially hired to lead the football program in December 2022, taking over from Brad Dedman, who had led the program for 13 seasons prior. In three seasons under Kuhn, the Wildcats went 13-18, including a 5-5 campaign in 2025.

Wilson Central’s last TSSAA football playoffs appearance came in 2022, Dedman’s last season in charge.

“To our administration, thank you for your support and leadership throughout these three years … I am confident that the next head coach will be able to build upon all the work our program has put in over the last three years,” Kuhn added.
