Blue-chip defensive lineman names FSU in top five

by

Four-star defensive lineman Karlos May has close to 40 scholarship offers from schools like Alabama, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Texas, and more. He’s gotten his choices narrowed down to an exclusive group, though.

Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, May has shortened his list down to five schools. Ohio State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Florida State are the programs that May is choosing from.

May has an official visit locked in with FSU on May 29. Georgia (June 5), Auburn (June 12), and Ohio State (June 19) all have official visits with May also. After these are taken, he’s expected to make his decision.

Ohio State, Georgia, and Ole Miss have pulled ahead of the pack at the moment. However, FSU has kept itself in the running for a few key reasons.

“I feel like they really need me,” May told Rivals on what makes Florida State appealing. “Not just another guy — someone who can come in and make a difference.”

May had a strong junior year at Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He racked up 43 tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, and two interceptions per MaxPreps.

He’s the No. 159 player nationally and the No. 17 defensive lineman per the Rivals industry rankings. The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder is also the No. 8 prospect in the state of Alabama.
