Texas A&M bolsters running back depth with transfer portal signing

by

The Texas A&M Aggies have signed Arkansas State running back transfer DD Murray, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

Murray is the brother of Texas A&M defensive lineman DJ Sanders and will add depth to the running back room after redshirting at Arkansas State. The Bellville, Texas, native played in three games as a true freshman and did not record any statistics, giving him four seasons of eligibility with the Aggies.

He had an excellent career at Bellville High School before signing with the Red Wolves as a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He rushed for 3,935 yards and 65 touchdowns in 29 career games, averaging 9.2 yards per carry and 100.9 yards per game.

Murray also caught 17 passes for 447 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has experience returning punts and kickoffs, returning one of each for a touchdown as a high school senior.

He was ranked as the No. 2,674 overall player and No. 188 running back in the 247Sports composite rankings. He has not received a ranking as a transfer.

He is the third running back that Mike Elko’s program has added this offseason, joining high school signees KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker, who are both four-star prospects. The Aggies averaged 4.8 yards per carry last season on their way to making the College Football Playoffs.
