Speculation surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future continues to grow, and the Boston Celtics remain one of the teams frequently mentioned as a potential destination for the Milwaukee Bucks superstar.
However, according to Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com, there have been no direct trade discussions between Boston and Milwaukee involving Antetokounmpo at this stage.
A league source told Bulpett that despite the ongoing rumors, the two organizations have not formally engaged in negotiations regarding the two-time MVP.
The situation remains far from settled, though.
Bulpett notes that circumstances could change quickly and describes the situation as “fluid,” with league observers increasingly believing that any eventual Antetokounmpo trade would likely require multiple teams to complete.
Reports earlier this year indicated that Boston explored the possibility of acquiring Antetokounmpo before the February trade deadline.
However, the extent of those discussions remains unclear, and there is little information available regarding how aggressively the Celtics pursued the idea.
There’s nothing brewing between the Bucks and Celtics regarding Milwaukee’s star player: https://t.co/NogYj6WbrD
