“Sin City” just lost (another) good one.
Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight prospect Ethyn Ewing has been forced out of his scheduled bout against undefeated Farid Basharat, which was set to go down at UFC 329 next weekend (Sat., July 11, 2026) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Twitter user BestFightPicks was first to report the news, adding that the promotion is currently looking for a replacement opponent for Basharat.
Ewing (10-2) burst onto the scene at UFC 322 last year, upsetting heavily-hyped prospect Malcolm Wellmaker via unanimous decision. He followed that performance with another statement win in April at UFC Vegas 115, stopping Rafael Estevam with a nasty body-shot finish (watch highlights).
Two UFC fights. Two unbeaten opponents handed their first professional loss.
Ewing was on a mission to make it three straight against Basharat, but that will have to wait.

Basharat (15-0), meanwhile, has quietly assembled an impressive UFC resume, winning six straight fights inside the Octagon. While he has not generated major hype because of a lack of finishes, the Afghan standout has consistently found ways to win. “Ferocious” is coming off a split decision victory over Jean Matsumoto and previously defeated former ranked contender Chris Gutierrez.
It was one of the best prelim fights on the entire UFC 329 card, so yeah, this one definitely stings.
