Ankalaev (21-2-1 MMA, 12-2-1 UFC) was scheduled to face Khalil Rountree in the main event, but an injury forced the former title challenger out of the bout. The 34-year-old dethroned Alex Pereira at UFC 313 to become light heavyweight champion, but lost their rematch at UFC 320 this past October.
