Caitlin Clark Faces Health Concern Ahead Of Key Matchup With Liberty

The Indiana Fever came into their showdown against the New York Liberty on Saturday with a bit of a disadvantage as Caitlin Clark continues to feel the aftereffects of the illness she suffered during their 83-71 win against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday.

Still not feeling like her old self, Clark took the court and showed everybody that her illness didn’t look as worrisome as a lot of people suggested. However, longtime Fever reporter Scott Agness knew that wasn’t the case.

“She’s hanging in there, and probably not yet over the sickness she described after last game,” Agness wrote on X while covering the game.

Her comments quickly stood out as Clark showed signs of weakness in the early goings of the game, missing her first five shots of the night and failing to have a lot of impact on offense.

After the game, Clark only managed to put up 10 points and shot a disappointing 4 for 14 from the field. With her shooting going offline against the Liberty, Clark relied on her playmaking skillset and dished out 9 assists.

With Clark doing the work on the ball, the Fever were able to build a 12-point lead midway through the third quarter, but that was all they wrote.

The Liberty would then pull away in the fourth quarter to secure an 83-75 win over the Fever.

“I haven’t puked that much in a really long time”: Caitlin Clark opens up about vomiting during their game against Atlanta

The concerns about Caitlin Clark’s health stemmed from what happened in their match against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday.

At halftime, Clark was seen throwing up in a trash can next to the Indiana Fever bench, which was reported by Michael Grady on Amazon Prime as either an upset stomach or just the weather.

After getting the win against Angel Reese and the Dream, Clark talked to the media about her illness but didn’t disclose much information about it.

“I haven’t puked that much in a really long time. But then I felt fine, I felt light,” Clark said. “I’ll be good.”

Despite the illness, Clark finished with 17 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. She also tied a record she’s already set last season by becoming the fastest player in the WNBA to reach 150 points and 50 assists in a season.
