Cunningham has since received much backlash and was even recently banned from the WNBA subreddit.

Charlamagne doesn’t know why Sophie Cunningham was asked trans athlete question
As shared by Jason Cohen on X/Twitter, Charlamagne suggested that the Democrats should not be going back down this road and having the conversation before the upcoming elections.
He added that he was not sure why Cunningham was asked the question in the first place.
Charlamagne said: “I cannot believe that people are falling for tricks like this right before the midterm elections. This is so d— for Democrats to even be going back down this road having this conversation.

He continued: “I don’t know why Sophie Cunningham was asked this question, but if she’s asked, ‘Should biological men play in the WNBA?’ the answer should be, ‘No!’ That should be the answer from everybody.”
Cunningham’s response to the question has prompted widespread debate and has led to two former NBA players, Royce White and Enes Kanter, declaring for the WNBA.
The ongoing issues also saw the WNBA hold a meeting to discuss the growing debate over transgender athletes, but after the meeting ended, no eligibility changes were made.
