Dana White is excited about the possibilities for Conor McGregor with a UFC 329 win.
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) returns from a long layoff to rematch Max Holloway (27-9 MMA, 23-9 UFC) in Saturday’s welterweight main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (Paramount+).

McGregor has two fights remaining on his contract, but things could change depending on the outcome of his fight against Holloway. McGregor made a “triple crown” comment in reference to potentially chasing a third UFC belt, and White sees various options for the former dual-champion.
“Anything is possible if he wins on Saturday night,” White told The Mac Life. “Whoever wins on Saturday night it’s a big win and a big step up in their careers, especially at this point in time. These are two guys that have done it all. I’ve got like five scenarios in my head if Conor wins, and I’ve got like three for Max if Max wins. So, it’s huge for both of them.
“The thing that I love about the sport is, like, who saw the White House coming? That that would happen? I didn’t see this fight coming. Last year I was telling you guys I think he’ll fight this year and he didn’t so then I was thinking he wouldn’t fight. It’s what keeps this thing fun is, we have an idea of what the rest of the year looks like, but things will happen that we don’t see coming.”
It’s been five years since McGregor fought after he suffered a gruesome leg break in July 2021. If he’s successful at UFC 329, White says his comeback will be unprecedented.

“It says everything about him,” White said of McGregor returning. “When you think about it, throughout the history of fighting, tell me somebody who came back after this big of a layoff. I mean (Muhammad) Ali took three years and he wasn’t the same when he came back, and I think these are the kind of challenges that a guy like McGregor likes. If he wins on Saturday night, he will do something that nobody has ever done in any combat sport after such a layoff.”
