Distance Ace Isabella Zarkos Gives 2027 Verbal to Boston College

NEW COMMIT: Distance freestyler Isabella Zarkos of Las Vegas, Nevada, will head to the East Coast for her college career after she verbally committed to Boston College for Fall 2027. Zarkos is a Junior National qualifier.

She will join Mia Briant as a member of the Eagles’ Class of 2031.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Boston College! I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents for their unwavering love, belief and support and to my siblings for their constant encouragement. I’m also deeply grateful to my coaches, Jake and Ron, and my teammates at Sandpipers of Nevada for shaping me into the swimmer I am today. Finally, a big thank you to Coach Bruno and Coach Dara for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait for what’s ahead! GO EAGLES!”

Zarkos does her club swimming with Sandpipers of Nevada and most recently competed at TYR Pro Swim Series – Westmont where she finished 17th in the 1500m free and 19th in the 400m IM. She placed 16th in the mile at Juniors West back in December before going on to take second in that event as well as seventh in the 500 free and eighth in the 1000 free at Walnut Speedo Sectionals a week later.

Last summer, she raced to eighth place in the 1500m free at NCSA Summer Championships.

Her best times include:

  • 1650 free – 16:42.03
  • 1000 free – 9:59.17
  • 500 free – 4:58.61

Currently a junior at Faith Lutheran High School, Zarkos took third in the 500 free and fifth in the 200 free at the 2025 Nevada 3A State Championships. She placed third and fourth, respectively, in those events at the state meet as a freshman.

Zarkos’s top time in the mile would’ve been the fastest on Boston College’s roster this past season. She would’ve placed 20th in that event at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.
