Eagles News: Jonathan Greenard among NFL players poised to improve in 2026

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …

Which NFL players should improve in 2026? Kyler Murray, Ricky Pearsall among potential risers – NFL.com
JONATHAN GREENARD — Greenard’s inclusion might seem misplaced to those who already understand how good he is. At 29 years old, how much better can he get? Well, after Greenard posted just three sacks in an injury-riddled 2025 campaign, Minnesota sent him packing for Philadelphia, where the Eagles were happy to welcome one of the most consistently underrated edge rushers in the NFL. Greenard’s third team in four seasons presents him with one of the best opportunities of his career. He joins a front that includes Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, and he will rush opposite the incredibly athletic Nolan Smith. He’s playing for defensive mastermind Vic Fangio. All of the ingredients are there for Greenard to produce a remarkable rebound season in a defense that saw Jaelan Phillips make a difference as a midseason acquisition and eventually cash in on a nine-figure deal with the Panthers. With all due respect to Phillips, Greenard is an upgrade. You’ll see why this season.

Could Philadelphia really have Michael Jordan AND LeBron James? – BGN
It also allows us to make the joke that Philly could have both LeBron AND Michael Jordan, since the Philadelphia Eagles signed a 28-year-old journeyman offensive guard last month who has that name.

Rich Paul on Sixers: ‘How could they not have [LeBron’s] attention?’ – Liberty Ballers
We have a whole lot of smoke, friends. After a couple days of LeBron James speculation and reports, his agent and longtime friend Rich Paul confirmed The King’s interest in potentially joining the Philadelphia 76ers. Paul, the head of Klutch Sports, has a podcast he does with longtime sports media personality Max Kellerman called Game Over. On Friday morning’s edition, Paul went through all the realistic destinations for each team chasing LeBron and what those franchises bring to the table.

Things to watch for at Eagles training camp: Tight end and fullback edition – PhillyVoice
In other words, odds are that Eli Stowers won’t have impressive numbers as a rookie even as a receiver, which is his strength. Part of that will be a result of a lack of playing time. Goedert and Mundt are clearly ahead of him on the depth chart, and although Calcaterra has fallen out of favor with the fan base, he hasn’t with the team, who brought him back on a one-year deal. So there’s some congestion at tight end for Stowers to work through. But also, as a rookie there’s just no way the Eagles can line up Stowers at tight end and ask him to block professional edge defenders at this stage of his development, and they’ll have to be mindful about not being too predictable on offense when Stowers is on the field. And so, it could be a little bit of a waiting game with Stowers. Along the way, it would be encouraging if he could make some occasional impressive plays throughout camp to provide optimism for what he might eventually become. We should also maybe note that Stowers was quiet during spring practices, and even seemed limited in practice due to an injury. (He had a sleeve on his leg.)

Jahan Dotson thinks the Falcons will showcase him like the Commanders and Eagles didn’t – PFT
Now Dotson is on his third team after signing with the Falcons in March, and he thinks he’s in the right place — for the first time. “I want to be one of the greatest,” Dotson told Josh Kendall of TheAthletic.com. “I’m not afraid [of saying that]. I was talking to Jessie Bates, and he was talking about wanting to be the best who ever played, and I’m comfortable with those sort of things. I want to be one of the best in the league. I want to show my talent. I haven’t really gotten to do that.”

3 ways the Cowboys defense has already improved under Christian Parker – Blogging The Boys
After witnessing one of the worst defensive performances in team history in 2025, the Dallas Cowboys decided to pretty much clean slate at the season’s end. They hired Christian Parker as defensive coordinator to replace Matt Eberflus, and hired a new defensive staff. Then through trades, free agency, and the draft they attempted to upgrade their roster. Only time will tell if the moves they made so far pay off in 2026, but already the early returns through organized team activities are being met with optimism. This is a group expected to be much improved from a season ago, however, how much so remains to be seen. So far though, we should all be encouraged the improvements they’re already making.

NY Giants news: GM Joe Schoen’s contract extension length revealed – Big Blue View
Today we learned that the extension is for four years, and Schoen will (barring unforeseen circumstances) be the Giants’ GM through 2029. That lines up well with the five-year contract that Harbaugh signed back in January, which makes him the Giants’ head coach through 2030. While the Giants only have one winning season since Schoen became the Giants’ GM, he is coming off of two strong drafts in a row, and Harbaugh believes that the roster is better than the record shows. Hopefully an improved coaching staff will raise the existing roster to the (generally) “A” grades Schoen’s drafts have gotten and validate the Giants’ faith in him.
