Enes Kanter Freedom has been banned from Wintrust Arena following his confrontation with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud during Sunday’s game against the Indiana Fever.
Sky owner Michael Alter announced the decision Tuesday.
“He has demonstrated to us, unequivocally, that he has the potential to be a threat,” Alter reportedly said.
The incident began while Freedom was sitting near the baseline.
After exchanging words with Cloud, he took several steps toward her but never entered the court.
Security then escorted him from the arena.
Freedom later claimed Cloud told him that Sophie Cunningham “wouldn’t sleep with him,” which he said sparked the confrontation.
The WNBA itself reportedly had not planned to ban Freedom because the incident never became physical.
However, the Sky decided to prohibit him from Wintrust Arena.
Freedom has also announced his intention to enter the upcoming WNBA draft, though the arena ban is separate from any decision about his eligibility.
