It has been a bumpy ride, but it seems Caitlin Clark has finally found her footing again.
After a spectacular rookie campaign, injuries derailed much of her sophomore WNBA season. Returning to the lineup this year, the Indiana Fever phenom has endured an uneven adjustment period.

However, after delivering a masterclass performance against the Chicago Sky on Thursday, it appears the 2024 Rookie of the Year is firmly back on track, to the delight of the WNBA world.
Caitlin Clark Draws Major Praise After 32-Point Eruption vs. Sky
One of the most dominant runs in NCAA history paved the way for the Caitlin Clark effect to captivate the entire nation. As a result, she was considered the no-brainer selection with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Indiana jumped at the opportunity, and Clark immediately proved her worth, taking the team to the playoffs in her first year. However, injuries sidelined her for most of the 2025 campaign.

Despite her absence, the Fever made a deep postseason run, pushing the eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces, to their limit in the semifinals. With Clark’s return, it seemed like Indiana would have one of the most lethal rosters in the league.
Unfortunately for the Fever, through the first quarter of the 2026 season, Clark wasn’t hitting her usual stride, shooting below 40% from the field, including a particularly brutal four-game stretch where she totaled 49 points on just 28% shooting.

As a team, Indiana was struggling as well, sparking rumors about a potential trade. However, over the last couple of games, Clark has found her rhythm again. Following a 19-point outing against the Washington Mystics on Monday, during which she knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer, Clark followed that up with a dominant showing against Chicago.

As the game went to overtime, the two-time All-Star was a driving force in the Fever’s 114-106 home victory as she posted 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists. Beyond the raw box score numbers, it was her confidence and swagger on the court that breathed life into Indiana’s fan base.
Clark’s command of the basketball was on full display as her dribble moves paved the way for a wide-open lane to the rim for her teammates. As she dropped some spectacular dimes, one X user wrote, “Caitlin just toying with them.”
It wasn’t the only highlight from a marvelous showing from the third-year star. As she went to a series of crossovers before hitting a fadeaway jumper, Hoop Herald declared, “This is the Caitlin Clark we know and love. Give her the ball, promote her, let her be the face of the league.”
However, the historical significance of the 24-year-old’s explosion was hard to overstate. According to the fan account Clark Report, she recorded just the third 30-point, 5-rebound, 10-assist game in WNBA history.
Additionally, Clark built on a few of her own offensive records.

“Caitlin Clark extends her record for most 30-point, 10-assist games in WNBA history, moving up to 3 (next closest is 4 players with 1).
“She also extends her record for most 25-point, 10-assist games in WNBA history, moving up to 8 (next closest is [Sabrina] Ionescu with 5).
“She also extends her record for most 20-point, 10-assist games in WNBA history, moving up to 13 (next closest is [Courtney] Vandersloot with 10),” Clark Report tweeted.
Clark wasn’t the only force to be reckoned with on the Fever, though. Her co-star Aliyah Boston poured in a game-high 34 points and 12 rebounds. Per Underdog, they became the “first teammates in WNBA history with a 30-point double-double in the same game.”
One supporter tacked onto the praise, gushing, “Caitlin Clark has 30 PTS, & 10 AST. Do Ya Realize How HARD That Is To Do In Just 10 Minute Quarters?? She’s Literally A GOAT In Handcuffs!”
It remains to be seen whether Clark’s eruption will help her return to the MVP-caliber form she has shown in the past. However, her game-winning triple against Washington may have been the spark she needed to regain her mojo.

While the Fever remain a top-three seed in the Eastern Conference (7-5), Clark finding a consistent groove could help them climb the standings and establish themselves as a serious title threat.
