FITASY Rethinking What Swimmers Put on Feet

Built for Recovery: FITASY is Rethinking What You Put on Your Feet

FITASY Recovery Footwear: Custom Fit, Quick Drying, Built for the Pool Deck

Every swimmer knows the routine.

You race. Warm down. Hydrate. Refuel. Stretch. Maybe you use compression boots, massage or another recovery tool.

Then you put something on your feet.

Josh Liendo

For FITASY co-founder Kevin Wu, that raised a simple question:

Athletes personalize everything, from training loads and recovery protocols to nutrition and performance data. So why is the shoe they recover in still built to a standard mold, made for everyone and no one in particular?

Wu grew up immersed in competitive sports and was constantly looking for footwear that fit better, performed better and still looked good.

That frustration helped inspire FITASY and a simple idea: Every foot is unique. Why shouldn’t your footwear be?

What Makes FITASY Different?

FITASY starts with the individual.

Rather than simply making another mass-produced shoe or slide, FITASY set out to create footwear designed around how an athlete actually moves, recovers and feels after training.

Its three-dimensional lattice construction is designed to provide cushioning and support across different areas of the foot, while its open structure allows airflow and lets water move through rather than remain trapped inside the footwear.

For swimmers, that translates into maximum cushioning underfoot, easy on and easy off, water flowing through and a quick-drying design built for the transition from pool to recovery.

Get out of the water. Put them on wet. Let them drain. Keep moving.

The Croissant Slide brings that idea directly onto the pool deck.

Recovery does not end when the race does.

Swimmers may spend only a few minutes racing, but they can spend hours walking on concrete, standing behind the blocks, moving between warm-up and warm-down areas and waiting for the next event.

Those hours matter too.

FITASY is designed to provide cushioning and support during the time athletes spend outside the water, when the body is already beginning the recovery process.

If recovery is built around your body, what you stand and walk on should be part of that equation.

The Foot Becomes the Blueprint

FITASY’s technology takes personalization one step further.

For its custom-fit footwear, athletes can use a smartphone to scan their feet. FITASY creates a digital fit profile and uses those measurements to produce footwear designed around the individual.

Instead of asking every athlete to fit into the same standard mold, FITASY starts with the person wearing the shoe.

The foot becomes the blueprint.

In a sport increasingly built around individualized training, biomechanics, nutrition, sleep and performance data, FITASY believes footwear should be another part of that same evolution.

FITASY is already putting that philosophy into practice in aquatic sports through its relationship with USA Diving.

That connection puts the footwear directly into an environment where athletes spend long periods moving between water, concrete pool decks, training and recovery.

The same logic applies naturally to swimming and water polo.

When athletes are out of the water, they are still moving, standing, recovering and preparing for what comes next.

Bringing the Conversation to Coaches

FITASY will exhibit at the ASCA World Clinic in Orlando, September 9-12, giving coaches and athletes an opportunity to see and experience the technology firsthand.

For coaches who spend entire days and nights on wet pool decks, the idea is just as relevant as it is for swimmers.

Recovery footwear should feel cushioned, comfortable, quick-drying and easy to wear around the pool.

And increasingly, built around the individual wearing it.

Your training is built around you. Now your recovery can be too.
