The NCAA announced this week that the world of college athletics is changing as the institution is enacting a new rule for college athletics eligibility.

Five years to play five seasons.

It doesn’t exactly mean that student-athletes will conclude their collegiate careers by age 23/24. But it does effectively remove redshirt years and sports-specific waivers.

I know what you’re thinking. I asked myself the same questions. And we will discuss all things NCAA and how it affects the college sports landscape, especially for our beloved Huskers.

Also, and I can’t believe there’s more taffy to pull, but we’ll have another – and probably final – update on the Saga of Brendan Sorsby. In brief, it seems highly unlikely that Sorsby will be playing football anywhere in the United States in 2026, either in college or the NFL. But hey, there’s always a chance he gets on with a CFL team this summer.

The temperatures continue to rise this summer, and it has definitely been a HOT June for Husker football recruiting. Minnie, Fred, and Greg will discuss where the Cornhuskers are for this month and for the 2027 recruiting class.
