Four fun ways—including throwback jerseys—that the WNBA is celebrating Season 30

Although, for awhile, it seemed like it might not happen, here we are, approximately one month away from the tip off of the 30th season in WNBA history.

In anticipation, the league is launching it’s Season 30 celebration, which will feature several new initiatives that will recognize those who helped build the league, engage fans, both old and new, and inaugurate the next era of WNBA basketball. Throughout the season, courts, game balls and uniforms will include the commemorative Season 30 logo.

As announced by WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert:

Season 30 arrives at the perfect transformational moment in our league’s history—marking both a defining milestone and the beginning of a new era for the WNBA.

The unprecedented growth and momentum we’re experiencing today is the result of three decades of commitment—from players, teams, fans, partners, and investors. As we step into this next dynamic era together, Season 30 is tracking to be our most memorable yet—celebrating both how far we’ve come while highlighting the limitless opportunities ahead as we continue to elevate women’s basketball to new heights.

Here’s more on what to look forward to during the W’s 30th season.

Tune in for three Season 30 Films

“There’s More Where Thirty Came From.”

That’s the official tagline of the season-long campaign, intended to capture that continuous progress and cultural impact of the WNBA’s 30 seasons. That league narrative will be celebrated through three films that will debut during Season 30:

  • Raising GOATs: Explores what defines greatness

  • Signatures: Spotlights emerging All-Stars who will shape the game’s future

  • Confetti: A tribute to the championship moment

Raising GOATs is available now on the WNBA’s YouTube channel and other platforms.

Turn back the clock for Court Origins Nights

Get ready to hoop like it’s 1997!

The league is introducing WNBA Court Origins Nights, which will be nationally-televised games between three of the league’s original franchises: the New York Liberty, Los Angeles Sparks and Phoenix Mercury.

The WNBA Court Origins initiatives will extend beyond the game nights, as the league’s first-ever retro program includes merchandise, events and storytelling ventures.

Wear the WNBA Legacy Trail

And, there’s more merch!

The WNBA Legacy Trail is a fan-centric merchandise initiative that will celebrate the league’s history—from the players to the fans to the staff to the moments.
