Name: Gary Bryant III
Position: Linebacker

Height: 6’1”
Weight: Redshirt Senior
Hometown: Baltimore, MD
High School/Previous College: Good Counsel/South Dakota
2025 stats: Bryant tied for the team lead in total tackles with 60 on the year. He also had 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack in his first campaign with the Orange.
2026 projections: There’s no reason to believe Bryant won’t see the same amount of playing time this season. Whether he starts is just a matter for the stats and title. Assuming that Vince Kehres follows the same modern defensive style, Bryant should feature regularly in the linebacker rotation, playing a large majority of snaps. If he can improve in the pass coverage game, that makes Bryant that much harder to take off the field.

How’d he get here?: Bryant was sought after when he entered the portal during the spring window in 2025. He had visits scheduled to USC, Cal and West Virginia. He ultimately committed to the Orange at the end of April.
What’d recruiting sites say?: As a transfer, a three-star prospect. Bryant was unranked out of high school.

Interesting nugget o’interest: The biggest reason Bryant was so sought after in the transfer portal? He earned FCS All-American honors after a 2024 season which saw him total 103 tackles.
