Spartans pursuing in-state DL prospect with Florida State offer

Michigan State football is pursuing an in-state junior defensive lineman that has already picked up an offer from a traditional blue blood program.

Dylan Volpe of Port Huron, Mich. announced earlier this week that he will attend Michigan State for a game day visit later this fall. According to a social media post from Volpe, he will visit Michigan State on November 20 for the Spartans‘ home game against Oregon.

Volpe plays for Port Huron High, and is listed at 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds. He is currently unrated and unranked on 247Sports.

According to 247Sports, Michigan State has not yet extended an offer to Volpe, but he does hold offers from three FBS schools. Florida State, Eastern Michigan and Toledo have all offered him at this time.
