Tuesday’s WNBA matchup between the New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces featured three league MVPs with A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones all taking the court. Another MVP was on the sidelines.
Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was sitting courtside near the Aces bench at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas on Tuesday, June 23, one day after he was traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Miami Heat in a blockbuster deal. Antetokounmpo will team up with Heat center Bam Adebayo, the boyfriend of Wilson.

Wilson (2020, 2022, 2024), Stewart (2018, 2023) and Jones (2021) have won six of the last seven WNBA MVP awards. Meanwhile, Antetokounmpo won the NBA MVP in 2019 and 2020 while playing for the Bucks.
The matchup between the Liberty and Aces Tuesday serves as a preview of next week’s 2026 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Championship between both teams, on Tuesday, June 30.
Earlier Tuesday, Antetokounmpo shared an Instagram Story of him knocking down 3-pointer after 3-pointer at the Las Vegas Basketball Center nearby.
Antetokounmpo was selected with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and brought an NBA championship to Milwaukee in 2021, carrying the Bucks past the Phoenix Suns in six games. The 2021 Finals MVP and 10-time NBA All-Star departs the Bucks as the franchise’s all-time leader in points (21,531), rebounds (8,882), assists (4,484), blocks (1,088), triple-doubles (56), games played (895), field goals (7,898) and field goal attempts (14,266).
